Protective Caregivers

Protective Caregivers is a multi-week program offered to custodial parents and/or caregivers of children who have been sexually abused. This group provides education to caregivers regarding the investigative and judicial process and provides social support from other caregivers who are experiencing a similar crisis.  Caregivers will be able to develop workable strategies to protect their child(ren), work through the stages of grief associated with trauma, gain understanding of their child(ren)'s behavioral changes, develop their stress management and coping skills, etc.
An initial assessment is required.

Safe Families

Safe Families is a multi-week program designed to provide non-custodial parents and/or caregivers with support, education, and advocacy which will enable them to enhance the safety and well-being of the child(ren) in or returning to their home after a disclosure of child sexual abuse has been made. Caregivers will be able to identify strategies that will help them reduce the risk factors and promote the protective factors associated with child sexual abuse. Additionally, caregivers will gain knowledge and information regarding the signs and symptoms of trauma their child may be experiencing.
An initial assessment is required.
